2013 Yukon XL Denali
If you read our post on the Cadillac Escalade Platinum you already know that we think it’s a pretty nice SUV. Sadly, not everyone has $80,000 to spend on their car. After driving the GMC Yukon XL Denali we found enough common traits to deem this the poorer man’s Escalade.
We say poorer man because the Denali isn’t cheap. A new Denali tops $65,000 but has most of the key luxury features. Heated and Cooled Seats, throaty 403 HP V8, all wheel drive, and all 8000 pounds of towing capacity to list a few. The only feature that we missed during our testing was the Cadillacs Magnetic Ride Control suspension. With the Cadillac suspension the Escalade feels more agile and firmly planted, while the Yukon feels a bit to soft over the uneven road transitions.
Top Speed: 97 Mph (sadly governor limited)
Coolest Features: Posh feel on a budget?
Exhaust Note: Throaty V8
Own or Rent: Own it… you won’t be dissapointed
Horsepower: 403 HP
Towing Capacity: Over 8000 pounds
1. Would we want to drive it? Yes
2. Would we want to own it? We do
3. What’s the type of person that drives it? Jocks, Docs, Chicks, or Geeks? Families
4. How do owners drive the car? Do they cut people off and weave through traffic? No too bad.
